STORYLINE:

A dragon boat race was held on the Jarun Lake in Zagreb, the Croatian capital on Saturday.

The event was part of activities organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb to celebrate the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival.

"For eight years in a row, the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb is organizing the Dragon Boat Festival on the Jarun Lake. And this year's (event) is the biggest one we have organized ever. This year we have 22 teams competing, which is the biggest number of teams we have."

The event attracted a lot of local residents, especially students studying the Chinese language.

The Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on June 22 this year, has a history of over 2,000 years and is celebrated across China and around the world.
