A diesel spill on a road in the city of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra province, caused dozens of motorcycles to slip and crash on June 30.

CCTV footage showed how the riders lost control of their vehicles and fell on the asphalt road as they tried to brake and slow down.

Another rider almost hit the fallen motorcycle, but he managed to stop his bike without slipping when it slid.

A fire truck arrived at the scene to clean up the diesel spill, which covered three points of the road with a length of about 50 meters.

The head of the Bukittinggi City Fire Department, Ef Riadi, said one rider suffered a broken bone and 14 others were injured in the incident. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to him, the spill made the road very slippery and dangerous for riders.

He urged riders to be careful and alert when driving on wet or oily roads.
