Portland Bill was packed with powerboat race fans as the race boats swept pass the end almost in touching distance.

The boats cut in close to Portland Bill as they turn to track in a straight line to Torquay in order to continue with race course over Lyme Bay in Devon.

Charlotte Leigh was stationed there for the race on safety watch. The Portland based Olympic training sailor was helping to raise funds with her work there for her Olympic challenge.

Several hundred people crowded the cliff top in order to get the best views.
