An electric three-wheeler springs to life and plunges into a river after narrowly missing a red car and its operator.

Video filmed in Zhoushan City in Zhejiang Province on August 30 shows a driverless three-wheeler used by a sanitation worker suddenly starting up and speeding off, narrowly avoiding a collision with a red car and its unsuspecting operator before falling into a river.

Good Samaritans quickly jumped into action, banding together to haul the submerged three-wheeler back onto dry land.

According to reports, the unexpected escapade may have been the result of the day’s rainy weather. The rain could have corroded some of the internal components of the electric tricycle, causing it to short circuit, suggested one informed individual.

Thankfully, aside from the damaged three-wheeler, no other losses were reported in the mishap.
