This is the incredible moment two gazelles formed leapfrog poses to help a calf jump up a wall while crossing a mountain road.

The incredible act was filmed along the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line in Tibet, south-western China on September 7.

In the video, a large group of Tibetan gazelles are seen crossing the road and jumping over a concrete wall on the left side of it amid an apparent migratory journey.

Undeterred by its height, two seemingly older gazelles are seen leaping up the wall and stand by waiting for the rest of the group. But a young calf going behind them struggles to follow along and cannot make the tall jump as it appears to leap too close to the wall.

Seeing this, the two gazelles then hop back down and position themselves against the wall like children playing leapfrog.

The cub seeing the adults offering their backs then walks towards the middle of the road and from there, it runs back towards them and jumps over their backs, successfully reaching the other side of the wall.

Locals said they were impressed by the way the animals worked together, giving the little calf a much-needed boost so it could climb the fence.

Their actions resembled children playing leapfrog, where one person crouches down and another jumps over their back.

The Tibetan gazelle (Procapra picticaudata), also known as goa, is a species of antelope that is native to the Tibetan plateau. Typically found living in alpine meadow and high elevation steppes, the goas are not commonly seen among groups larger than 10 individuals, and many live solitary, which makes the captured event all the more rarity.
