Rescue underway after distressed giant panda found in Chinese villager's backyard
The rescue was underway after a distressed giant panda was found in a villager's backyard in northern China.
The video was filmed in Zhouzhi County in Shaanxi Province on September 21.
The serene giant was unusually tranquil and visibly in a state of distress, with its condition appearing critically poor, raising immediate concerns of illness.
Without a moment's delay, the villager named Song Sishu reported his rare and concerning discovery to the higher authorities. Responsive personnel from Heihe Forest Park promptly escalated the situation and coordinated with pertinent departments to administer immediate care.
Around 11:30 am on the same day, rescue workers from Shaanxi Rare Wild Animal Rescue Base rushed to the scene to assess the panda’s plight.
The quiet giant is currently under the vigilant care of the rescue base, undergoing further treatment and recovery processes.
Furthermore, employees from Hougenzi Forest shared insights into the panda's health, revealing symptoms of diarrhea.
The panda is receiving ongoing treatment at the rescue station, and post-recovery, the endearing creature will be reintegrated into the wilderness.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
