This is the dramatic moment worried parents rush to rescue their children who were trapped beneath a bouncy castle that collapsed and overturned when an adult tried to sneak in and play.

The incident unfolded at an outdoor playground in Nanjing, in eastern China's Jiangsu Province, on October 5.

Witnesses said the inflatable castle suddenly collapsed, and many children who were having fun were trapped inside.

The laughter disappeared instantly and was replaced by screams and shouts of panic and terror.

The surrounding parents rushed to the scene when they heard the loud cries for help, hoping to rescue the pinned children.

Video footage shows the distressed parents trying to free their frightened kids when one man managed to tear open the fabric with a key.

Fortunately, no child was injured, local media reported.

The person who captured the incident on video said: 'Both adults and children were terrified. Inflatable castles really shouldn't be played on anymore; they are too dangerous.'

Amusement park staff responded immediately after learning of the incident.

They reportedly checked the surveillance video, which they claimed showed an adult had sneaked into the amusement park and hid in the inflatable castle, causing the castle to bear a weight that exceeded its load capacity and eventually collapse.
