This is the moment a woman narrowly escaped serious injury when she tried to avoid a plant growing in the pavement but fell onto a car driving past.

Fortunately, she narrowly missed falling in front of the vehicle and instead toppled into the side during the incident in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong on October 9.

CCTV footage shows the woman wearing a black and white sweater bending down to avoid the plants on her way home when she loses her balance, falling directly onto the moving car's door.

The car driver hoots the horn and stops right away while the woman appears startled as she sits on the floor in a puddle and nurses her injuries.

A man with an umbrella who was already heading away turned round and came back. He spoke to the woman and was then joined by the driver, and the three of them exchanged a few words.

The woman was said to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
