A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck western Nepal on Monday, very close to the area that was hit by a 6.4 quake last Friday that left at least 153 dead and more than 150 injured.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the earthquake at 16:31 local time (10:46 GMT), with epicenter 10 kilometers deep and 37 kilometers from the district of Dailekh, bordering Jajarkot, which was affected by last week's devastating tremor.

Jajarkot Police Superintendent Santosh Roka told EFE that no deaths had been reported so far from Monday's quake, although a few people were injured and a large number of houses already cracked by the previous quake were damaged.

This new earthquake occurs three days after another earthquake of 6.4 magnitude shook the west of the Himalayan country, where some humanitarian agencies are offering aid to the victims.

This footage illustrates houses that was damaged by the earthquake and aid to the victims in Dailekh, Nepal.
