Brave locals and firefighters rescued a mother and her child from an apartment fire in southern China.

The heroic video was filmed in Foshan City in Guangdong Province on November 10.

Bright flames and thick smoke came out of a flat on the second floor of a building. A woman was seen clinging desperately to the security window with her young child in her arms, trapped amidst the raging flames in the flat.

Local residents and firefighters, in a remarkable display of courage and teamwork, rushed to their aid. Eyewitnesses reported a frenzied scene as villagers hurriedly gathered tools, including scissors, pliers, and hand-held drills, to cut through the security bars. The tense atmosphere was palpable as the community worked together to free the trapped pair.

Finally, the mother and her child were successfully rescued.

The fire department reported that by 12:00 pm, the blaze had been effectively extinguished, and, miraculously, there were no casualties.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
