A restaurant owner was arrested for assaulting a customer in a heated vinegar dispute in eastern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Changzhou in Jiangsu Province on December 13.

A customer faced a physical assault after allegedly adding too much vinegar to his meal.

A young man in a pink shirt seated with his back to the camera, enjoying his meal. Suddenly, a man in black approached him, accusing him of adding something to his food. The bewildered customer responded, "I added seasoning; I came here to eat." A woman beside him chimed in, admonishing him for consistently adding too much vinegar and threatening to refuse service in the future.

The situation escalated when the black-clad man identified himself as the owner and aggressively demanded the customer leave. Tempers flared as the owner hurled insults and forced the customer to exit the premises.

Even after paying and leaving, the customer was pursued by the owner who continued to hurl verbal abuse. Shockingly, a woman brought a bottle over, and the owner threatened physical violence.

Outside the shop, the altercation turned violent, resulting in the loss of the customer's front tooth.

Local authorities swiftly responded to the incident. The market supervision and management bureau confirmed that the implicated establishment has been shut down, and the operator has been taken into police custody.

The local police department assured that they are actively handling the assault case.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
