A university's canteen collapsed under the weight of the heavy snow in central China.

The aftermath video was filmed at Yangtze University in Jinzhou City in Hubei Province on February 4.

The canteen's roof caved in, causing one side of the building to tilt inward, with some walls collapsing into the interior.

Thankfully, university officials swiftly responded, confirming that no injuries were reported as the campus was already on holiday break.

It was revealed that the canteen was still in use before the winter break, and the accumulation of snow led to the partial collapse of the steel structure. Additionally, numerous goods from the canteen's supermarket section were trapped inside.

In response to the incident, university authorities promptly informed the school leadership and planned to demolish and rebuild the canteen once classes resumed.

According to the Hubei Provincial Meteorological Bureau's weather report issued on February 4th, a significant snowfall blanketed the region, particularly affecting Jingzhou City, Jingmen City, and southern parts of Xiaogan City with heavy snowstorms. Snow depths ranged from three to 18 centimetres in various areas, with the thickest ice accumulation reaching 10.6 millimetres in Huangpi District.
