Footage shows Russian artillery batteries destroy strongholds allegedly belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in an overnight rocket attack.

The alleged operation, carried out using self-propelled 122-milimetre M-21 'Grad' multiple rocket launchers took place in the area of Donetsk, in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, on February 5.

The Ministry of Defence in Russia said in a statement: 'The launcher releases a multitude of projectiles within seconds.

'Even in complete darkness, the salvos are visible from a considerable distance, prompting enemy UAVs to react immediately.

'Therefore, the crews waste no time and promptly move the vehicle to a safe location.'

A gunner called 'Jeton' said: 'We identify the target, rush to the vehicle, get in, and take off. Within eight minutes, the target is neutralised.

'Myrole is to quickly aim at the target. I receive the azimuth and elevation, align the bubbles, and fire.'
