Snow art competition, games organised by army in northern India
The Indian army officials conducted a snow art competition and several games for children to enjoy in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir and fresh snowfall took place in the union territory.
This incident took place in Gurez in Bandipore on February 5.
Visuals showed the children enjoying themselves in the snow. Several games like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi were organized by the Indian army wherein the kids were divided into groups of two and were made to compete against each other.
The snow-covered valleys reverberated with the sound of the children's laughter as they had a good time playing in the snow.
The littles ones also came up with lovely snow art wherein they wrote 'I Love Bharat' on the snow and posed beside it. An atmosphere of fun and festivity prevailed in the area. According to a report, besides Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, a snow race was also conducted for different age groups and around 40-50 children participated in these events.
The army conducted this event with the aim to instill patriotism among the youth in this area and the children had a memorable experience. At the end of these events, cash prizes were also distributed to the ones who finished in first, second and third positions.
"Army always remains at the forefront to engage locals in games and bring opportunities for us. We are thankful to the Indian Army for engaging us in these games," Zaheer Ahmed, a local resident, said.
"We hope more games competitions will be held in the coming days," other locals added.
