This is the terrifying moment knife-wielding robbers looted a jewellery store after stabbing the owner in India.

One of the suspected muggers in a red shirt pretended to be a customer and browsed the store while talking to the owner's son Shaji Ur Rehman at the Kiswah Jewellers shop in Hyderabad on February 14.

Moments later, two masked men barged into the shop, leaping onto the counter to attack the Shaji with a knife before forcing him to lie on the ground.

The man in the red shirt watched the assault unfold while the other two stuffed a bag full of jewellery trays.

They then escaped on motorcycles as the battered storekeeper called cops for help.

Chaderghat police officers said they reviewed CCTV footage in the area and nabbed the three suspects in the Kompally neighbourhood of the city on Friday, February 16.

The men were identified as Nazim Aziz Kotadia, 36, Shoukat Raini, 19, and Waris, 18.

Janaki Dharavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East Zone, said Nazim had scouted the jewellery shop a day earlier, and arranged to loot it when he found only one person manning the store.

Meanwhile, Shaji was recovering from stab wounds at a hospital.
