Paris, February 26. Around 9 am, 7 citizens engaged in the "Food Response" campaign blocked traffic on an avenue near Porte Maillot for about thirty minutes. Some activists glued their hands to the ground and chained themselves by the neck. Smoke bombs were also lit.

This action comes just days after Bruno Le Maire announced a reduction of 10 billion in state spending, including cutting 1 billion from the MaPrimeRenov' program. The fight to accelerate the energy renovation of buildings was led by the former campaign Last Renovation. As often, it is the government tightening the belt on social and environmental issues, on our dignity and living conditions. It chooses to ignore the 12 million people in energy poverty, leaving 15,000 of them to die each year.

10 billion is small compared to the 400 billion military budget by 2030 or the 80 billion in annual tax evasion. If the government is out of ideas, here are 6 proposals from Attac to defend the general interest rather than darken the future of citizens.
