CCTV footage captured an Indonesian woman stealing a charity box and concealing it under her headscarf.

The incident occurred on 25 February 2024 in Agam, West Sumatra Province.

The woman arrived on a motorbike with her husband and child, all of whom wore masks to conceal their identities.

According to Bang Hendra, a 30-year-old restaurant waiter, the perpetrator entered the restaurant to purchase a piece of fried chicken for Rp12,000 before leaving.

"The theft was discovered two days later after we realised a charity box was missing. We checked the CCTV footage and found that the charity box for the construction of the place of worship was stolen by a woman," Hendra added.

The woman hid the large charity box under her headscarf and then rode away on a motorbike, carrying the money estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands to millions of rupiah.

The owner of the charity box who was notified by the restaurant has share the video of the perpetrator's action to various social media. It was later discovered that the perpetrator also stole charity boxes from mini markets and places of worship in the city.
