Swiss enterprise Gutor, a leading international manufacturer of industrial uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), opened its factory in Xiamen last September.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English) DJAMEL IDRI, CEO of Gutor
"Xiamen is at the heart of what we do at Gutor. We are in the right place for us to grow, in the future in our market in China, but also to export our high-quality products out of China across the world. China is the largest market growth that we have today in Gutor, not only because of the internal growth built on the oil and gas, built on the petrochemical, built on the nuclear power plants, but also as we see today, we are what we are going to do, what China is about to do in the renewable space. So extremely extremely positive about China growth, and also the growth made in China, made in Xiamen for outside, for export."

As the main factory of Gutor in China, it mainly undertakes engineering design, procurement, manufacturing, testing and other related functions.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English) DJAMEL IDRI, CEO of Gutor
"On the term of research and development (R&D), of course, China is at the forefront of R&D. We have very high-quality universities here. We have very high-quality students that we want to continue to hire and bring on board to develop the product of tomorrow. Yes, we will invest our R&D. Yes, for China products, but also for made-in-China, made-in-Xiamen export products."
