SOUNDBITE (English): JIANG YING, Deloitte China Chair
"If you look at just the recent few years, green energy, green transformation, the digital economy is huge for China, and our healthcare market, all, just everything in consumer markets because we do have a very high number of population and demand from the market. And I can see all the foreign investments are investing mostly in all those areas, not only in the manufacturing side, but also in a lot of the service sectors.
I think this is also indicating that the foreign investment has been transitioning from initially, if you look back around 20 years ago, they were coming to China and leveraging our advantages for China to become really a factory, a manufacturing site, and less than maybe half of the products will be sold in China, mostly were sold outside of China. Now I would say, on average, at least 70% of those manufactured products will be sold in this market. So, really transforming China from a manufacturing center to a consumer and product center.
I think China clearly is still a very hot market. When I was talking about auto industry, some of the foreign brands, they view China to be a very distinctive market that they will continue to focus on.
Overall, I think this market has attractiveness in terms of size and in terms of all the changes and transformation that has happened, that have continued to create demands from the market."
