In a dramatic ocean rescue operation on March 30, 2024, off the coast of New Smyrna Beach, a swimmer found himself in grave danger when a powerful rip current dragged him approximately 100 yards from shore. The situation quickly escalated as he became unresponsive, with no pulse, prompting a swift and coordinated response from lifeguards, deputies, the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department, and the medical team at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach.

Thanks to the heroic efforts of these dedicated professionals, the swimmer was brought back to safety and received immediate medical attention. Despite his dire condition initially, the timely intervention and expert care provided by the rescue team led to a miraculous outcome – the swimmer regained a pulse and ultimately made a full recovery.
