On April 1st, at 9:17 am, in Guzhang County, Xiangxi, Hunan, a driver, in a rush to attend to some errands, parked their car at an intersection without properly engaging the handbrake. Consequently, the vehicle rolled downhill, causing it to collide with a motorcycle parked on the roadside, injuring the individual resting inside the vehicle.

Footage from a public location surveillance camera captured a white car pulling over to the side of the road and a woman hastily exiting the driver's seat with a folder in hand, rushing across the intersection. Approximately 20 seconds after the driver left, the car slowly began to creep forward, brushing past another car parked below on the left. Gradually gaining speed, the car veered left and directly collided with a motorcycle parked on the roadside, knocking the person seated on it down. Subsequently, the car continued across the road until it collided with flower beds and trash cans on the sidewalk, narrowly avoiding a collision with a white SUV approaching from the right.

The driver of the car, Ms. Wang, explained, "I was in a rush to get to work in the morning to retrieve some documents and forgot to engage the handbrake. When I came back, I found the car had rolled away."

It was later revealed that Ms. Wang had hurried to retrieve documents after arriving at work. Due to her hasty exit from the vehicle, she forgot to engage the handbrake. The spot where she parked her car happened to be on a slight incline, and upon returning with the documents, she discovered her car missing. Upon investigation, she found her car had rolled down the slope, resulting in the accident. Ultimately, the police determined that Ms. Wang had failed to adhere to safety protocols while driving and bore full responsibility for the accident.
