4月16号下午5点左右，江西萍乡城区遭遇了强对流天气，狂风夹杂着大雨，让公园南路的这段百米长的护栏，像多米诺牌一样倒在了路面上。所幸当时没有砸到过往车辆，但倾倒的护栏却让两股车道变成了一股车道，此时正值下班晚高峰，车流量十分大，为不影响正常通行，路口的执勤民警发现情况后，马上前往处置。
萍乡交警支队直属大队一中队 民警 张弘：我马上走过去想扶起来，一个人扶不起，我就报告了我们指挥中心。
就在张弘警官等待增援的时候，有热心市民走了过来，帮着撑伞挡雨。
参与路人之一的施先生介绍：当时看到民警着急，我就过去看了一下，帮他打了一下伞，他们好辛苦的，下这么大的雨，也没看到他们穿雨衣，就在那里淋得全身都是湿的。
最终，三位民警加两位热心市民“履带式”的接力，将倾倒的百米护栏成功扶起，公园南路的交通秩序也恢复了正常。
