In a daring display of rescue operations amidst the flood-ravaged landscapes of Lajeado, Brazil, the military police of Rio Grande do Sul released helicopter footage capturing the dire situation on May 2nd.

Amidst the devastation, the BPMOA (Air Operations Battalion - Military Police) team, in collaboration with firefighters, continued their valiant efforts on the Falcao 08 helicopter, aiding the beleaguered community. In a heartening display of humanity, 18 individuals and two dogs were rescued from the inundated areas.

Utilizing a variety of rescue techniques, including McGuire lifts, stretcher operations, and rooftop rescues, the team spared no effort in retrieving those stranded by the deluge. One survivor, having endured three days perched in a tree awaiting rescue, attested to the harrowing ordeal faced by many.

Despite the relentless onslaught of adverse weather conditions, the BPMOA team persisted in their mission, working in tandem with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected. With meteorological challenges persisting, the outlook for continued operations remained uncertain, particularly in the afternoon hours.

Undeterred by the obstacles, the resilient BPMOA crew, alongside emergency response partners, including the Civil Defense and Fire Brigade, remained steadfast in their commitment to the community. Together, they tirelessly pressed forward, navigating the treacherous waters to deliver aid, rescue, and hope to those in need.
