In the footage, captured in Yueyang, Hunan Province last Sunday, the driver tying a safety rope on his body drives the lorry into floodwater.
However, he jumps out of the lorry before it falls into the floodwater.
Several lorries were driven into the floodwater to help stop the dam collapsing.
