Bizarre footage has emerged from China of a middle school teacher getting angry after a student in her class asked her to marry him.

The video, filmed in Jixi, Heilongjiang Province last Monday, shows the ambitious boy down on one knee clutching a ring and a bunch of flowers.

Two of his friends are also holding a sign with the words "Miss Li, I love you! Marry me!” written across it.

And as if that wasn't over-the-top enough, another one of his mates is playing a love song on the ukulele.

The angry teacher can be heard saying things like “don't joke, stand up please. I already have a boyfriend," but the love struck youngster is undeterred.

Eventually, the teacher stamps on the flowers and kicks over a speaker, before storming off, killing the teenager's hopes.
