Aggressive Hormonal Grouse - Pt2

Buy video

A dusky grouse in Waterton Lakes National Park has taken to hanging out alongside one of the park's scenic roads, and getting a little aggressive towards road users. The first time we encountered him, he was in the middle of the road in front of a car that had stopped because of a bear. As that car moved off, the grouse got in front of us, then jumped up on the barrier and moved towards me (Pt1). He then jumped on the hood of our car, and then on to the roof. He finally flew off when the bear noticed him and chased him off. He didn't go too far though as he was back on another day, chasing cars and cyclists down the road, and attacking vehicle wheels as people tried to get around him (Pt3)
This dusky grouse's unsociable behaviour has been reported to Parks Canada.
