Heartwarming video from the Mexico island of Cozumel shows a man flipping over a sea turtle that had become stuck on its back.

In the seven-minute-long clip, filmed in July 2017, our hero Steve turns the large reptile over so that it can haul itself back into the sea.

"While on vacation in Cozumel, I wanted to see the sunrise. I was hiking along the beach, and I discovered the stranded sea turtle," Steve - who hails from Oklahoma but was visiting the Caribbean island with family at the time - wrote online.

"I thought she was dead, then she started blinking her eyes. She must have crossed the road and fell off from above. She was bleeding from her nose a little and her shell was cracked. I'm sure she will heal up just fine," Steve said.

"I had to help. I turned her back over and followed her to the sea. It was a perfect sunrise."

I never have even seen a sea turtle. Then this happens. I walked up on this sea turtle and initially thought she was dead. He eyes were closed. I said loudly out loud "awe man!" Then her eyes opened and I knew she was alive. She started trying to turn herself over but she was stuck. I knew I had to help.
