The video, captured in Glen Waverley, Melbourne, shows the boy attempting to feed a kangaroo, with an emu also in attendance.
After he hesitates in giving out the food, the kangaroo fires off a stiff left jab to the boy's face.
The animal then bounds away, leaving the boy rubbing his sore eye.
