Build Your Own Treadmill Desk for Under $2

Build your own treadmill desk for about 2 bucks!

Items needed:
Laptop
Treadmill
(2 sets of) Picture hanging strips (make sure to get the Velcro type)
A book or binder that you don't want anymore (preferably a binder)
Duct tape

Optional items:
If you are using a mouse, you may need a paperclip and a low weight item to attach to the mouse chord so that the mouse does not slide off the treadmill while you are walking. I happened to use 2 flashdrives to accomplish this.
If you are using a book instead of a binder, you may need to put a couple of nails into the wall underneath it to help give it more support. This is why I recommend using a cut up binder instead of a cut up book.

Now, what you need to do:
1. Attach a picture hanging strip to the treadmill, as well as a corresponding picture hanging strip to the (top, center part of the) bottom of your laptop. Do this to the top and bottom part of the front of the treadmill (and to the bottom of your laptop). Line up the picture hanging strips and place your laptop on the treadmill. Press firmly. You should only need two sets of picture hanging strips for this. After placing If you are just going to use your Laptop's touchpad, skip to step 4! If you prefer to use a mouse, move on to step two.
2. Cut off the front and back covers of a small book that you don't care about and duct-tape them together OR cut out a piece of the cover to a binder slightly bigger than your mousepad. Duct-tape this to your treadmill on the right-hand side of your laptop (or you can use more picture hanging strips to attach it).
3. Grab a paperclip and attach it to the wire of your mouse. Take a small weight item and attach it to the paperclip. Find a weight that works (it should only have to be a couple of ounces). For me, I used two flashdrives). This will prevent your mouse from sliding off the treadmill as you walk.
4. Pull up the bottom end of your laptop, turn on the treadmill, push your laptop back down, and start walking while getting your work done! Have fun!
