A deadly Indian cobra was found entangled in a garden net in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India on March 6.

The abandoned net had ensnared the snake, which had perhaps run into it, while pursuing a prey.

People, who lived nearby, called Snake Helpline to help the stranded snake.

Two volunteers, Subhendu Mallik and Purnchandra Das, who rushed to the spot, found the cobra with its head buried inside the net.

They first used a scissor to cut the strings around the head. Then with the help of a sharp blade the strings that had snared the body were cut open.

The reptile was gently freed and released in its natural habitat later.

Mallik said: “The four feet-long cobra was not injured as the strings were thick and had not cut into its body.”

“We had to be very careful as it was a cobra and very venomous,” he added.
