Power line explosion looks like fireworks display
Residents thought they were attending New Year celebrations after an explosion in power lines looked like a fireworks display.
The electrical surge happened in Pasig City, Philippines on May 16. The power lines started sparking allegedly because of 'jumpers' or illegal electricity connections where locals tap into the grid - causing a surge in power.
The balls of sparks continued for around ten minutes before eventually subsiding.
