Hawaii's Kilauea volcano continued to erupt in the first half of June, prompting more mass evacuations and bringing devastating destruction to the area.

This video, shot by Leilani Estates local Kai Nishiki on June 10, shows lava fountaining from Fissure 8 of Kilauea as volcanic rock pelts down from the sky.

According to one news source, the twin fountains reached as high as 55 meters in the weekend. The volcano's eruption, which has wiped out around 600 homes since early May, is being called the most destructive in the United States since the 1980 explosion of Mount St. Helens in Washington state.
