Menacing grey storm clouds gathering above Intramuros, Manila City, the Philippines on October 2, shortly before the area was battered by heavy rain from Typhoon Queenie.

The tropical storm - which passed from the Philippines to Japan - had maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

It reached its peak intensity at 200 kph maximum sustained winds and gustiness of up to 245 kph on Tuesday (October 2) before it gradually weakened the next day on Wednesday.
