Barcelona: human bodies exhibition

The exhibition shows human bodies, whole and dissected, to educate about their functioning, especially school children, although it is presented as a didactic experience for all audiences.
The 12 complete corpses and the 150 organs are preserved by the technique of plastination - patented about 30 years ago in Germany -, which consists of replacing the water of tissues with a silicone under conditions of vacuum and freezing, which takes two to three months - in the case of a small organ like the heart - a year or more - in the case of a whole body - to complete. These bodies come from Asia, where legislation is less strict than in Spain, because when no one claims a body, it can be used for scientific purposes, unlike Europe.
