YouTuber Viva Frei filmed the overpowering glow and haze caused by the Woolsey Fire from 14 miles away on a beach in Santa Monica.

The footage shows an ominous orange glow covering the sky near the Pacific Coast Highway.

“It’s like the setting sun with a reddish hue, except it’s 1.30 in the afternoon,” he says.

Ash can be seen floating around and settling on the cars parked near the beach.

“You can see the ash all over the car, all of this stuff that looks like snow is actually ash from the fire, 14 miles up."

‘’The only people coming out are the people evacuating, it’s quite surreal,” says the filmer.
