A student lost a limb when she was shoved in front of a commuter train while studying abroad in Central America. Gabrielle Newell, 23, was walking to college in Heredia, Costa Rica, when she was mugged and pushed onto the tracks ahead of an oncoming train. Despite the hardship Gabrielle found the courage to move to New York City and now says she "loves" being an amputee. Gabrielle, of Las Vegas, Nevada, lost her left leg below the knee in the horror incident in April 2013. She was bundled into a truck by a passer-by who rushed her to a local hospital.
