Incredible footage of an elephant seal nearly crushing a group of penguins who were in his area of the beach in South Georgia.

The clip, filmed on December 21, shows the male elephant seal scoping out the beach to find a mate, when he sees a group of penguins resting in the wrong area and decides to charge his sizeable bulk at them.

“Once he’d rested on the beach, he then moved off heaving his huge body like a giant grub as penguins scattered to stay out of his way.” Bob, the filmer told Newsflare.

This huge moulting subadult male Elephant Seal crossed the shallow creek on Gold Harbour that was crowded with moulting King Penguins – their shed feathers floating downstream in the current. Once on the beach he rested, then moved off, heaving his huge body like a giant grub as penguins scattered to stay out of his way. He finally reached the huddle of moulting Elephant Seals and rested.
