Sebayang River Festival, Presenting Regional Culture and Environmental Care

An annual tradition in the Rimbang Baling forest area, held at the Koto Lamo ward, Kampar Kiri District, Kampar District, Riau Province, Indonesia. This tradition is known as the Sebayang River Festival.

This festival, held on Sunday, March 31, 2019, displays regional culture such as ornamental boats. In addition there are also, featuring traditional music such as Talempong, Gong and Gendang.

Ornamental boats and traditional music are then displayed and displayed to the public, along the Subayang River.

Thousands of spectators watched the festival on the banks of the river enthusiastically and encouraged the festival participants they championed.

After wading through the Sebayang River, which was surrounded by a reserve forest of Rimbang Baling wildlife reserves, festival participants then pulled over and performed traditional music performances.

Head of the Kampar Regency Tourism Office, Zulfa Dharma, said that this activity was an effort to increase regional tourism. In addition, socialization is also an effort in maintaining environmental sustainability.

In an effort to preserve the environment, this activity was also held, a campaign to ban garbage in the river.

Socialization and education are given to the community not to dispose of garbage in any place, especially in the Sebayang River area.
