Students Multinational Parade - Erasmus Flag Parade
Multinational Parade in Thessaloniki Greece on Thursday 19/04 afternoon, with students from all over Europe - Erasmus Flag Parade | Multi-national celebration in Thessaloniki 1000 representatives of the Erasmus program make a parade with the colors of their country with flags and traditional costumes, as part of the first pan-European general assembly of the Erasmus student network.
Flag Parade started from Makedonia Palace and European students cross the beach of Thessaloniki with the final destination of the Funeral Hall of the AUTh for the Opening Ceremony of the largest Erasmus students' conference for 1000 participants from every corner of Europe.
More than 1000 students from all over the world will visit Thessaloniki to discuss the future of the Erasmus program and its impact on students who have been participating for more than 30 years now. The new generation of Greek students is proving its energy by organizing pioneering, voluntary actions that bring the country at the center of developments on key European issues such as Erasmus.
The members of the ESN Greece Network aim to enrich society through international students. With this in mind, they took the initiative to organize the largest Erasmus conference, inviting 1,000 international students to Thessaloniki. "We are particularly proud to welcome European students. Education in Europe is changing and Erasmus is a key pillar. It is refreshing to see the new generation take an active part in shaping these changes and we actually support their efforts, "said Gavroglou, the Minister of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
The Annual General Meeting of the Network is also an opportunity for extroversion for the students of the Greek Higher Education Institutions, as the Mobility Fair will take place on Sunday, April 21 at 11:30, at the courtyard of the Thessaloniki City Hall. At the Mobility Fair, where IKY will participate, the students attending will be informed about studies abroad, exchange and internship programs, training seminars and volunteer work by the representatives of 900 European Universities. "It is a unique opportunity for Thessaloniki students to get in touch with their peers from other European Universities in order to learn about the real dimension of study abroad. The State Scholarship Foundation is always committed to initiatives that promote mobility and we are delighted to support such a major student effort, "said Athanasopoulos, Director of the Erasmus + National Coordination Unit.
At the same time, AGM aims to bring the peoples of Europe closer together through exchange of culture and open dialogue. Actions such as the Flag Parade, a parade that will take place on the beach of Thessaloniki, where students will cross the city with the colors of their country, will highlight everything that unites us as Europeans.
