This is the hilarious moment of so-called "instant karma" when a friendly gibbon tried to play with a pet cat in Indonesia.

The amusing scene, which was filmed last year (October 30, 2018) near Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, shows the gangly two-year-old ape chasing after the cat because he wants to play.

The persistent but careless gibbon ran after the cat, but wound up dropping a sheet of plywood onto itself, allowing the cat to escape.

According to their owner, the two pets are friends and can often be found playing together.

However, the gibbon does have a habit of nipping the cat's back, which means the feline sometimes runs away.

Gibbons live in tropical and subtropical rainforests from eastern Bangladesh and northeast India to southern China and Indonesia.
