An invasive species of fish is caught and eaten by a Queen Triggerfish in a moment the filmer calls "The first recorded sighting of a fish... eating a lionfish"

The diver was in the Caribbean Sea, off Cayo Anclitas, when he captured the rare moment a poisonous lionfish is eaten by a fish that isn't a shark or grouper in June.

The lionfish has destroyed most of the ecosystems in the Caribbean Sea and throughout Florida, and has no natural predators. The filmer comments the video is "A positive sign that life can adapt and start finding ways to restore balance to the reef ecosystems."

They were accidentally introduced to the Caribbean waters years ago and took over the reefs, destroying the ecosystem.

Efforts in Cuba are being taken to teach apex predators like Reef Sharks and Grouper to eat the Lionfish by spearing the Lionfish and feeding it to the sharks. This time a Queen Triggerfish has taken advantage of the easy meal. THIS IS THE FIRST RECORDED SIGHTING OF A FISH, OTHER THAN A SHARK OR GROUPER, EATING A LIONFISH!!! This is a positive sign that life can adapt and start finding ways to restore balance to the reef ecosystems.
