This is the scary moment a tractor carrying two people is swallowed up during flooding in central India.

The driver and another passenger reportedly managed to swim to safety in the incident, which took place on August 7 near Amarpura village, Madhya Pradesh state.

Eyewitness video shows one person's head bobbing in the water after the tractor turns turtle in the deluge.

Reports said both the driver and the other passenger swam to safety, moments before the tractor was washed away.

Two people, including the driver, had a lucky escape after the tractor they were driving got stuck in an overflowing waterbody and later drowned in central India.

The incident took place on Aug 7 near Amarpura village of Madhya Pradesh state's Mandsaur district.

Visual showed the driver trying to get the vehicle out of the deluge, however, it soon loses balance and starts turning turtle.

Reports said both the driver and the other passenger jumped out and swam to safety, moments before the vehicle was washed away.

Several videos have emerged of similar instances from different parts of India.

While a part of the country is battling water scarcity, another part of it is gripping dealy deluge, triggered by copious rains.

States like Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Kerela are battling floods.

Floods have claimed more than 100 lives in 2019 in India.
