Burning Man dust storm bicycling

Buy video

A couple of friends and I caught out in deep playa (wide-open desert stretching for miles at the top-most position on the Burning Man map) during a dust storm at Burning Man (2017)! These dust storms can be fairly common, but this was a particularly long one that caused whiteout conditions for upwards of half an hour. Being miles away from our camp and with barely any physical landmarks, it was fairly easy to get disoriented and wind up on the wrong side of the playa! Ski goggles and handkerchiefs are all-but-mandatory for dust storms like this!
