Michael Gove leaves Parliament after government defeated on Brexit documents vote

Footage of Conservative MP Michael Gove leaving Parliament on Monday evening (9th September) shortly after 9pm, following MPs voting to force the government to publish no-deal Brexit documents and private messages over Parliament's suspension.

All Conservative MPs present voted against. All Labour MPs present bar one voted for.

Michael Gove paid tribute to John Bercow, who is resigning as Commons Speaker, in Parliament earlier today. Mr Gove said, “Your commitment to your principles and to your constituents is unwavering and an example to others”.

Michael Gove is the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and MP for Surrey Heath.
