The parents of an 11-year-old Indian boy with three legs and other disabilities are pleading the public to offer financial help with his ongoing treatment.

As well as having an extra limb, Sudama is visually impaired and partially deaf.

He's currently being treated at a government-run facility in Bhubaneswar in Odisha state but the family has run out of money to continue his care.

Sudama's father, Madhusudhan, is calling on the public to help with the costs of his treatment.

Parents of an 11-year-old boy born with multiple physical defects, including three legs, say they are worried about their son's health as he fails to communicate anything with them.

While the extra leg remains a cause of concern for physicians and his parents alike, Sudama is also visually impaired.

To make matters tough, the 11-year-old also suffers from hearing loss.

He is presently undergoing treatment at the government-run All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Odisha's Bhubaneswar city.

Being the sole breadwinner, Madhusudhan, Sudama's father, says the family has exhausted all its funds while availing treatment for him.

A resident of Balasore district, Sudama was first taken to a hospital in Cuttack, the former state capital, for treatment.

However, the lack of money proved a major hindrance and the family had to move out of the facility.

As of now, various treatment modalities like pediatric surgery, neurological treatment, cardiologist consultations and other relevant forms of interventions are being adopted for the effective treatment of Sudama at AIIMS.

Urging monetary help, Madhusudhan says he will be grateful to those who will lend a helping hand and help him provide a better life for his son.
