This is the heartwarming moment an eight-year-old girl in northwest England was told by her father he was cancer-free and she instantly burst into tears.

Little Maisy Dickson from Morecambe had never spent a night away from her father Chris until he went into hospital to have his bladder removed.

She was expecting him to be in hospital for two weeks as he recovered from the nine-hour operation.

But he managed to come home after just nine days - and kept his return a secret so he could surprise his youngest daughter.
