A 628-acre wildfire that damaged two structures in Jurupa Valley on Wednesday, fire officials said.
The Hill Fire erupted about 10 a.m. near Granite Hill Drive and Pyrite Street, where nearby homes were evacuated, according to Cal Fire. The fire continued to burn and as of 6:45 p.m. about 30% of its perimeter was contained.
All evacuations were lifted Wednesday evening.
Its epicenter was directly north of Highway 60 and the road was shut down in both directions for about two hours.
Authorities ran traffic breaks to limit the number of vehicles going through smoke from the fire, the California Highway Patrol said.
