A doctor removed a five-centimetre-long needle from a 7-year-old boy's abdomen after he swallowed it for his magic performance in northern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on November 5, shows the doctor named Yang Hongbin using an endoscope to take the needle out of the boy's abdominal cavity during the surgery.

The boy named Mao Mao reportedly swallowed the needle while performing a magic trick with his friends at school.

Fortunately, Mao Mao has recovered and left hospital after the successful surgery.

（11月5号）凌晨，西安市儿童医院消化内科接收了一位吞食异物的7岁患儿毛毛，这位小朋友吞下的可是一根长达5公分的钢针。
西安市儿童医院住院一部消化内科主治医生杨洪彬说，孩子是当天凌晨一点多送过来的，距离吞食异物已经超过了12个小时，并且还吃了晚饭，但孩子一直没有感到什么不适。由于毛毛吞食的钢针长达5公分，并且很尖锐，情况仍然很危急，医院便开通了绿色通道连夜进行手术。
因为整个手术过程没有造成任何创伤，所以毛毛当天中午就已经出院了。可谈起毛毛吞食这根钢针的原因，让大伙都感到很意外。据孩子的家长讲，11月4号中午，7岁的毛毛是在学校和同学玩变魔术的游戏时，才把这根钢针吞下去的，老师得知后便赶紧联系了家长。
