Fresh Snowfall IN Kargil Ladakh brought Joy to Farmers
In Ladakh, Kargil District experienced fresh snowfall which has led to slippery Road Condition and mostly traffic remained suspended particularly in Kargil town.

People were seen walking rather travelling in Vehicles and on most of the roads children were seen Skiing and Sliding and enjoying the snowy season.

According elders, snowfall in November, December and January are good for a bumper summer as thi snow remains longer and recharge the springs properly.

Meanwhile the Kargil Srinagar Road NH 1D has been closed for vehicular traffic due to heavy snowfall at Zojjila and the Nh 301, the Kargil Zanskar Higway is also closed.

More than 300 Passengers of Kargil Ladakh, got stranded at Sonamarg and likewise a number of passengers got stranded at Kargil also.

Meanwhile later yesterday the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh RK Mathur called an emergency meeting of the top officials of the UT attended by Advisor and Commissioner/Secretary and gave directions to immediately assign a Nodal Officer from Kargil House in Srinagar to visit Gagangir and Sonamarg to look into the welfare of the stranded passengers of Leh and Kargil.

The Administration of UT Ladakh wrote to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to revisit the decision of closing the Zojila Pass before time and take steps to reopen the road so that stranded passengers can be facilitated and move from both sides of Zojila. In addition MoD and the Ministry of Home Affairs have also been requested to intervene and provide immediate sorties of IL 76 to evacuate the stranded passengers by air.
