Elementary Student Visit to the Mangrove Area in Angke - Kapuk
Angke Kapuk Nature Tourism Park (TWA) is a mangrove conservation area of 99.82 hectares which is used for tourism and environmental education.
The area, which was cultivated by dozens of illegal fishers, was restored in 1998. And since 2010, the area has been visited by children from schools who want to learn more about the mangrove ecosystem. Children are very happy to learn about the mangrove ecosystem in this place. Every week, there are always groups of school children who visit this place.
Angke Kapuk Nature Tourism Park (TWA) Mangrove is a wetland ecosystem that is dominated by mangrove trees. The presence of conservation areas in Jakarta, has given new hope about open green land, to reduce the level of air pollution, including curbing erosion and shoreline.
Previously, the area that was turned into a fishpond area, apparently not only eliminated trees but also damaged the mangrove ecosystem. Various obstacles are faced to return this area to its original designation.
